。Argument

此类题型有三个特点，首先，话题性质是争议性的;第二，题目要求是希望可以寻求考生的看法;第三，在展开论述方面，需要评估对立双方的证据。比如下面这道例题：Some people think that secondary school students should study international news as a school subject,but others argue that it would be a waste of time of valuable school time. What is your opinion on the issue? （2013.6.22） 这个题目中询问的就是考生的观点。

第二。Report

此类话题也包括三个特点，首先，话题性质是非争议性的;第二，题目需求是希望考生可以寻求信息;第三，在展开论述方面，要求中不要求有无对立的双方。比如下面这道例题： A large number of young people are leaving school and cannot find a job. What problems will youth unemployment cause for the individual and for the society? What measures should be taken to reduce the level of unemployment among young people? （2012.8.11） 在这个题目中，考题主要询问考生对客观现象的总结和复述，而考生自己却不能有什么创造性的解答。

第三。Argument +Report 混合型

此类话题混合了argument和report的共同特点，这类型的题目看似复杂，但是很好应对。比如下面这道题目：As most people spend a major part of their adult life at work,job satisfaction is an important element of individual wellbeing. What factors contribute to job satisfaction? How realistic is the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers? （剑7，test3）其实我们可以很容易的将题目分解，个问题是report，第二个问题可以将其转化为argument的典型问法在进行作答，比如可以换成The expectation of job satisfaction for all workers is realistic. Do you agree or disagree? 亦可以换成Some people think everyone can enjoy their work,while others believe that everyone expecting job satisfaction is unrealistic. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
