此次美国高中校园枪击案件发生在高中的停车场，4名15岁的学生遭到枪击，其中1名女生伤势严重，有生命危险，已经急速送往旧金山一间医院救治，其余3名男性伤势较轻。
事件发生的停车场：
事发时，不少学生在停车场准备离校，3名学生被击中后迅速跑去学校内躲避，2名男生受伤较轻，1名女生受伤严重。
因枪击后学生跑进了学校，有人担心开枪者会尾随进入，仍旧留在学校内部，学校迅速反应，封锁了学校，要求学生和老师都待在锁住教室内，直到警察到来。
当地警察也在下午3点20分左右赶到了现场，在不清楚事件的性质下，将事件当作为一起校园屠杀案处理，派出大批警察，封锁现场，逐栋建筑物进行搜查，但并未找到枪手。
据目击者声称，听到至少六6枪声，一共共有4名男性犯罪嫌疑人(不确定是否都配枪)。通过警方调查，这并不是一起“随机犯罪”，受伤较重的那名女学生是此次的射击对象。
事件发生后，学生们都很紧张。但是学区的发言人HeidiAnderson表示学校将会在周三(10月19日)重开，并且加强安保。
教育委员会的副主席ShamannWalton表示，任何一起枪击案发生后，整个校园社区都处于威胁之中。事件后，他们会确保有心理咨询师与学生和教职员沟通。此外：“主动学习枪击是一种应对方式，但是暴力防治条例和法律的监管执行更重要。

Weweresadtoknowthataparentofoneofourstudentswaskilledattheshootingthenextday.Sothefacultyhostedaquickmeetinginourtheaterforamemorial.Healthcenterofferedachanceofpsychologicalcounselingforeveryoneaswell.Theyhavealsotalkedtocomfortmewhenmygrandmotherwasverysick.
